Channel discussions
Channel discussions are the linked group where people comment under channel posts. Wardy can protect those comments, but this mode is not the same as a regular group.
What is different
- People often comment from the channel itself, so CAPTCHA is not used in channel discussions.
- Welcome / CAPTCHA flows belong to regular groups only.
- Wardy can still moderate comments with filters, flood limits, silent spam protection, incidents, and related tools.
- Channel discussions can show an automatic rules message under new posts.
How to connect
- Link a discussion group in the channel settings in Telegram.
- Add Wardy to the discussion group and grant admin rights.
- Run
/activateas the owner. - Publish a new post or run a link check in the admin panel.
If the channel is unlinked, the community can return to regular-group mode after synchronization. If you link a channel again and Wardy does not detect it right away, reconnect the bot, run a link check in the panel, or publish a new channel post.
Important
Root channel posts are not moderated as comments. Protection applies to discussion comments.
In short
Channel discussions protect comments; CAPTCHA stays for regular groups.
