How to add and activate Wardy

Protection starts after Wardy is added to the community, given the right permissions, and activated by the group owner.

Regular group​

  1. Open Wardy in Telegram: @wardy_guard_bot.
  2. Add Wardy to your group or supergroup.
  3. Promote Wardy to administrator.
  4. Allow Wardy to delete messages and restrict members.
  5. As the group owner, send /activate in the group (or /activate@wardy_guard_bot if needed).
  6. Open the admin panel and turn on the protection rules you need.

Channel discussion group​

  1. Link a discussion group in your Telegram channel settings.
  2. Add Wardy to that discussion group and give it admin rights (including delete messages and restrict members).
  3. As the owner, send /activate in the discussion group.
  4. Publish a new channel post or run a link check in the admin panel so Wardy can detect the channel discussion.
Important

Only the Telegram group owner can activate Wardy with /activate. Admins alone cannot complete activation.

Tip

If activation fails, check that Wardy is still an admin and still has permission to delete messages and restrict members.
