FAQ
Short answers to common questions. Detailed guides are in the related articles.
How do I activate Wardy?
Add @wardy_guard_bot to the group, grant admin rights to delete messages and restrict members, then have the group owner send /activate in that group.
Who can run /activate?
Only the Telegram owner (creator) of the group. Admins cannot activate Wardy for the community.
Is there a free community?
Yes. One small community can be free: groups with up to 300 members, or channel discussions while the linked channel has fewer than 1000 subscribers.
What happens when my group grows past the free limit?
That community needs Shields for paid protection. You can keep one other eligible community on the free slot if it still qualifies.
Does CAPTCHA work in channel discussions?
No. CAPTCHA and welcome flows are for regular groups only. Channel discussions protect comments without CAPTCHA.
How do channel discussions differ from regular groups?
Channel discussions are linked comment groups under a channel. After activation and sync, Wardy treats them as discussions and skips CAPTCHA.
What are Shields?
Shields are protection units for paid communities. They are charged daily based on community size (5, 10, or 15 Shields per day, up to about 15 per community).
How do I buy Shields?
Open Protection balance in Wardy and pay for a Shield package with Telegram Stars. Shields are credited after successful payment.
What is the grace period?
When Shields run out, protection can continue for a limited grace period so you have time to top up.
What happens after grace ends?
Paid protection is suspended, but your settings are preserved. Top up Shields to restore protection.
Which moderation commands does Wardy support?
Common commands include /warn, /mute, /ban, /del, /delmute, /delban, unmute/unban, and /report. Punishment commands are used as a reply to the offender’s message.
What is the difference between owner and admin?
The owner activates Wardy and controls owner-only actions such as enabling or disabling protection and billing choices. Admins help configure settings and moderate within their permissions.
Where can I get support?
English support: https://t.me/tgwarden_support_en. Russian support: https://t.me/tgwarden_support. Email feedback: bestchatguard@gmail.com.
How do I open the admin panel?
Open a private chat with Wardy, request the admin panel sign-in link, and open https://tgwarden.com from that button before the link expires.
Can I change panel language and theme?
Yes. In the admin panel account settings you can switch interface language and theme.
